Bringing open problems and research work face to face

Defensive cyber operations — lutte informatique défensive, LID — cover the techniques used to anticipate, detect, alert on and respond to cyberattacks. As the technical expert of the French ministry of the Armed Forces in cybersecurity, DGA Maîtrise de l'information develops its own expertise in the field, and wishes to share its technical concerns, open problems and use cases with the academic research community.

The day follows a public document setting out the DGA's priority research topics, and the call for contributions issued from it. Ten talks were selected, from DGA MI, Inria, CentraleSupélec and the Lab-STICC: intrusion detection on provenance graphs and on industrial systems, cyber threat intelligence, honeypot data analysis, autonomous LLM attackers, adversarial attacks against GNN-based detectors, federated learning and unlearning. Each lasts 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of questions.

The purpose is practical: the projects built out of these exchanges are the ones CREACH Labs then funds, through its PhD, postdoctoral and research engineer calls.
